Q. I am not a resident of Ontario, can I still receive my prescription medicine through getmeds.ca?
Currently, due to regulations, we are only able to fill prescriptions prescribed by a physician licensed to practice within the province of Ontario.
Q. For a new prescription, does the original paper prescription need to be forwarded to the pharmacy in all cases?
If your doctor has provided you with a paper prescription, the original prescription must be forwarded to the pharmacy in order to be dispensed. The pharmacist will verify the authenticity of your prescription. You may wish to tell your doctor to directly fax us your prescription or call in a verbal prescription. In most instances, this is sufficient. For prescriptions previously filled at another pharmacy, simply provide us with the phone number of the pharmacy and we will take care of the rest.
Q. What about payment?
We accept all major third party insurance plans including Ontario Drug Benefit, and in most cases can bill your plan directly. If there are any co-payments or if you are not covered by any insurance plan, payment can be arranged directly with us by providing a credit card number. If you live within the greater Toronto area, other payment options may be available, including C.O.D.
Q. How will I know how to take my medication once I receive it?
Directions will be clearly labeled on the medication. As well, supplementary information about the medication will be provided. After receiving your medication, you will receive a call from one of our pharmacists in order to ensure that you take your medication in the exact way prescribed by your doctor and to answer any questions you may have. Please ensure that accurate contact information is provided to us in order to facilitate this process.
Q. What personal information do I need to provide you with in order to get my prescription delivered to me?
In order to ensure that we are able to process your prescription completely and accurately, you must provide us with your complete name, address and telephone number (both daytime and home) including postal code. As well, allergy information, e-mail address, third party insurance information and birth date must be provided. In certain instances, other information may be requested. Be sure to include all contact information in case we need to get in touch with you. For repeat prescriptions and over-the-counter medications, the pharmacist is available during regular business hours to answer any questions which you may have
